My Financial Musings...Harvest Moon

We have just enjoyed a Harvest Moon at what has traditionally been a time to celebrate nature’s bounty and gratefully prepare for the next sowing season.

In practical terms, though food is plentiful there are pricing pressures and fuel too is rising in cost.  Hoarding can work in the short term but a well-diversified cupboard of goods and being more creative with what you already have is a better long term plan.

Financially, making sure your investment portfolio is well diversified and is working for you is good practice.  It is widely reported that it will not take long for companies to pass input costs on even more than they already have or their profit margins will be squeezed.   It is worth considering how you can prepare yourself for higher inflation as a strategy in a changing environment.
